During this exciting 5-day experience, students will get in-person training with published authors to create characters, craft a world, and construct a compelling story. Students will also learn how to critique and edit their story. Then, each student will get a chance to submit their story (1,000 words or less) as part of “The Summer I Became an Author” anthology. This anthology will be a published collection of stories from authors of their age.
But it doesn’t end there.
Students will learn the business and marketing aspects of book publishing as they collect preorders and invite their community to the official fall book launch party, where they will be asked to sign copies as published authors and even receive author payments.
