See, Experience and Taste What’s Cooking in Northwest Arkansas at the BITE Festival June 22 -23rd

Taste buds are on high alert in anticipation of the upcoming, June 22nd – 23rd, BITE NW Arkansas festival. The big news is that BITE is relocating to 8th Street Market in Bentonville from its previous AMP location in Rogers.

The long awaited ten-acre 8th Street Market in the Bentonville Market District is a culinary venue extraordinaire. A world-class hub that is already home to Brightwater, NWACC’s Center for the Study of Food, and the 8000-square foot Bike Rack Brewery Co. facility, which will have a 1300-square foot tap room. Additionally, a variety of other food related tenants will also be occupying the soon the space soon.

While NWA’s 8th Street Market’s main focus is all things culinary, the arts and music will also play a large part in the overall allure of the project.

Daniel Hintz, Owner/Principal at The Velocity Group and one of the developers of 8th Street Market describes the 8th Street Market as, “a culinary base camp for northwest Arkansas.”

BITE NW Arkansas is a fabulously fun two-day culinary festival spotlighting the area’s top chefs, best restaurants, food, breweries, beer, ingredients and brands.

BITE Night One will take place on Thursday, June 22ndJune 22nd. While regional chefs showcase their talents, attendees to this exciting event get to taste sample sized plates until their taste buds give out. Tickets $30 per person or $50 per couple.

BITE Night Two will take place the following day on Friday, June 23rd. This wildly popular event serves up delicious signature burgers from the best burger restaurants in the area and mouthwatering local and national libations. Tickets $30 a person or $50 per couple.

The popular festival is a part of Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P & G, and has been brilliantly selected as the inaugural event to garner national attention for NWA’s complete culinary package. Culinary talent, food, restaurants and more will be on display for all the world to experience.

There can be no doubt that BITE NW Arkansas and 8th Street Market are the perfect fit. They both emphasize food, and 8th Street Market has more room and a premier setup for showcasing food and brews and for mixing and mingling.

Make your plans early to attend as the past two years have been completely sold out. Buy your tickets here.

Power of Music Songwriter Festival April 27-29th

Spotlight on The Power of Music Festival, April 27th – 29th, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Everyone is looking forward with great anticipation to the upcoming inaugural Power of Music festival where local and regional songwriters will have a chance to mix and mingle with successful songwriters from around the globe.  Fans will have an opportunity to hear songs that have been written by famous and local songwriters.  Nothing like this has ever been done in Northwest Arkansas.

Betsy Brumley, Chairwoman of the Power of Music Festival, answers specific questions about the festival below:

Whose brainchild and how did the Power of Music Festival begin?

The Power of Music Festival is the brain child of Kevin Bernier and Betsy Brumley, the husband and wife team, who founded the I’ll Fly Away Foundation, which runs the festival.

What did you want to accomplish by launching the Power of Music Festival?

The goal for the Power of Music Festival is to create a truly different musical experience for the people of NWA.

What do you want your fans to experience at this first Power of Music Festival?

We want fans to experience up front and personal the inner workings of the song writing process, and we also want them to have a great time at the musical events.

What did you want to accomplish by launching the Power of Music Festival?

The Festival will be bringing songwriters from around the world, as well as, local songwriters together to celebrate the art of songwriting.  Songwriters will be paired up into 2 or 3’s and will share the stories behind the songs they have written, then they will sing them acoustically.  Aspiring songwriters will have an opportunity to meet successful songwriters and learn from them.

What makes this festival different/unique from other music festivals?

One hundred percent of the funds raised during the festival will be invested back into the lives of the children of NWA.  Panels will include informational panels including some of the top music industry executives in the world.  They will be sharing advice on how to create a successful music environment in the NWA area, and they will also be sharing tips on how to be successful in the music business.

What is the heart and soul of the Power of Music Festival?

The founders hope that through participation in the Power of Music Festival panels, musicians and songwriters will discover the tools they need to be successful in the music business, and in so doing, a culture conducive to the development of an expanded music scene in NWA is fostered.

What makes you the most excited about the Power of Music Festival?

We are excited about being able to help the children of NWA through music.

Clayton Chaney

Clayton Chaney

What is a ‘must do’ at the Power of Music Festival?

Attending at least one musical event, and at least one panel event are both must dos.

What will make you consider the Power of Music Festival to be a success?

Through this exciting festival, we want the people of NWA, our friends and neighbors, to share our passion for music, and we want them to have a wonderful musical experience.
