Billie Holiday, Joni Mitchell, and Nina Simone are among some of the most phenomenal women in the history of American music. Enjoy the soulful songs of these acclaimed musicians as trailblazing pianist Lara Downes offers a tribute to these women and others in Holes in the Sky.
This special Sunday afternoon in Crystal Bridges’ Great Hall, with spectacular views of the museum’s woodlands and ponds, includes special guests Alicia Hall Moran, mezzo-soprano, who will perform vocal selections from the featured artists, and harpist Bridget Kibbey.
The title of the performance, Holes in the Sky, is inspired by the words of artist Georgia O’Keeffe: “I want music that makes holes in the sky.” Enjoy a glass of wine or other beverages during the performance, or schedule brunch reservations prior to the concert: https://crystalbridges.org/eleven/
