Learn how to make your own rain barrel in this fun and hands-on short class. We’ll provide all the materials, just bring yourself. Oh, and be sure you have a way to take home your new rain barrel! A rain barrel is a container which harvests rainwater from rooftops for later use in yards and gardens. Low-impact development features like rain barrels help integrate homes and developments into the natural landscape by spreading out stormwater so it can naturally filter through the soil and remove pollutants. Did you know, a 1″ rain on a 1,000 sq. ft. roof generates over 600 gallons of water? Collecting this runoff helps conserve water and improve water quality by capturing water otherwise lost to storm drains which empty into streams, rivers, and lakes.

Register: [email protected] or call 479-271-1060
Fee: Registration is $25, which covers the rain barrel, tools, and parts to make the rain barrel.
*Due to limited space and materials, participants will need to register ahead of time*
