There is so much going on in our corner of the world that it is hard to keep track.  Here is a little event calendar with this weekend’s (Dec 12-14th) holiday events for Northwest Arkansas.  The cities are listed in alphabetical order with the corresponding dates of the events.

Event: Bentonville Christmas Parade
The Bentonville Christmas Parade is truly a Christmas event that shouldn’t be missed. There are thousands of participants in the parade that attracts well over 10,000 people to the downtown area. Participants from the area compete for best float and best walking group. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas”.

Friday, December 12th – 13th
Time: 5:00-8:00 PM
EventThe Illuminated Stroll the Springs Tour
A guided tour through illuminated springs and stops at local families’ porches for goodies and stories.  Check out the decorated luminaries of Upper Spring St. (Start at Sweet Spring, next to Rogues Manor Restaurant and continue to Harding Spring, Crescent Spring, and end at Grotto Spring.)

Time: Dark – 8:30 PM
Event: Experience the Light: Christmas Drive-Through Lights
Friday and Saturday nights there will be a drive-through display open from dark until 8:30 PM.

Event: Eureka Springs Bed & Breakfasts-Sweet Treats Tour
Visit 9 different B&B’s, sample their favorite cookie & candy recipes, and while you are there enter yourself for a chance to win a $100 Gift Certificate.

Symphony of Northwest Arkansas presents its Christmas Concert at Walton Arts Center’s Baum Walker Hall in Fayetteville.

Northwest Arkansas Jingle Bell Run

Fight arthritis in festive fashion by participating in the Northwest Arkansas Jingle Bell Run. Events will include a chip-timed 5K run, a one-mile walk, and an Elf Chase for children ages ten and under. Participants are encouraged to get in the holiday spirit by wearing a themed costume, reindeer antlers, jingle bell laces or other fun Christmas attire.

Family concert and special screening of the hit holiday film, The Snowman

with live orchestral soundtrack presented by the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA).

Saturday December 13th
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
Event: Visit Santa on the Caboose
Boys and girls are invited to visit Santa on the Frisco Caboose at the corner of W. Walnut and S. First street. Be sure to take family photos and deliver holiday wishes to Santa on a real caboose. A special mailbox next to the caboose is an ideal place to drop off your letter to Santa.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at Art Center of the Ozarks

Time: 1 PM and 5 PM
Event: Christmas show on ice “Christmas in New York City” by the Ozark Figure Skating Club at the Jones Center.
Enjoy watching talented skaters from the Ozark Figure Skating Club skating to all your favorite Christmas music. After the show, you are invited to skate with Santa and the cast members. There will also be sleigh rides on the ice, door prizes and hot chocolate.
