FAQ’s

This is our most popular question and there is no cookie cutter answer to give. Everyone is different. Some clients I see weekly others monthly and some 3-4 times a year. They decide what works best based on their body’s response to the therapy and their budget/schedule. I will give suggestions based on what kind of condition they are in and together we come up with a plan.Typically in the beginning, we will have frequent sessions to focus on your issue and get fast relief . Once feeling better, we will spread the massage sessions out into a maintenance type plan.

Another popular question 🙂 I think I can speak for most massage therapists when I say that we want our clients to undress to their comfort level. Underwear on or off,it doesn’t matter. However…….My preference is for my clients to undress completely. The hips and gluteal muscles are just as important as feet and shoulders. Ultimately,it’s your decision and your comfort level. We will accommodate you.

This does happen and the reasons can vary. It’s been a while since your last massage session and The massage you received was wasn’t light enough to accommodate the built up lactic acid causing soreness. Drinking A LOT of water after a massage is critical to flushing the lactic acid out so it doesn’t settle back in.If you don’t drink the water, chances are you’ll be sore the next day.In general, your body carries so much tension that the early sessions can be the most challenging to receive and therefore you f eel tender and sore after those initial sessions. More than likely, the more massages you receive the more supple your muscles become, in turn the less soreness you will feel post massage.

The short answer, Swedish is geared towards relaxation and deep tissue is geared towards pain relief or a focus area of tension and discomfort. Deep tissue does not have to be painful, it is at the comfort level of the client. However it is meant to help relieve tensions and trigger points, which can be intense at times. Always a good choice to make sure you see a therapist that is knowledgeable about the issues you may be having.

Looking For a Quality Massage?  We Would Like To Be Your Local Massage Therapists.

Hey there – My name is Christen Spain and I am the owner of Bodyworks massage and wellness. I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2007, practicing in both Texas and Arkansas. Throughout these 12/13 years of practice, my focus has been on medical/therapeutic/goal-oriented massage. In short… I focused on people who were dealing with chronic pain and together (along with other medical professionals) we either fixed the issue or made it much more manageable so daily living wasn’t so strenuous.

I came to work at Bodyworks in 2015. During my first year the then owner, made a decision to retire and gave me an opportunity to purchase the business. So here i am…. Captain of the ship for the past 3 years and we have grown to three locations in NWA!

Bodyworks is NOT a spa. We offer esthetic services because taking care of your skin is just as important as any other organ in your body. We also offer chiropractic services because that goes hand in hand with what Bodyworks is…… a massage therapy clinic.

Why you should choose Bodyworks for your massage needs – the answer is simple. Our team is talented. Half of our massage therapists have been practicing for 10+ years (15+ on the team). We only bring a new therapist on board AFTER they’ve given 3 massages to 3 different therapists and 1 massage to a regular client to ensure they are Bodyworks material. After their lengthy interview process, all recipients will discuss the pros and cons of the candidate and whether they are qualified to work alongside the rest of us. Bodyworks has a wonderful reputation and I intend to keep it that way by only allowing only the best massage therapists to work there. We hold monthly workshops where our seasoned therapists teach and guide our rookies. Ensuring that your experience as a client is top notch.
